Tuesday 23 June 2026: The Mauritius Bankers Association (MBA) held its Annual General Meeting
on Monday 22 June 2026. Mr. Thierry Hebraud, Chief Executive Officer of The Mauritius
Commercial Bank Limited, was elected as Chairperson of the MBA for a one-year mandate.
Ms. Sangeetha Ramkelawon, Chief Executive Officer of BCP Bank (Mauritius) Ltd, was re-elected
Deputy Chairperson. Also elected as Deputy Chairperson was Ms. Hajrah Sakauloo, Chief
Executive Officer & Head of Banking of The Hongkong & Shanghai Banking Corporation Ltd and
HSBC Bank (Mauritius) Limited.
Mr. Thierry Hébraud commented, “I am honoured by the trust placed in me by MBA members, and
look forward to working with the Bank of Mauritius and other stakeholders to further build an
innovative and competitive banking sector.”
The MBA extends its thanks to Mr. Abrar Anwar, the outgoing Chairperson, for his leadership and
contribution to the association’s mission.
